Impulse
Accelerated Technologies, Inc. the private held company was
formed in October of 2002.
The mission is to serve the needs of embedded systems designers through
the development and
distribution of software-to-hardware compilation and verification
tools.
President and CTO David Pellerin is a key architect of advances in
language-based design for PLDs
and FPGAs, and has published four books on the subject of programmable
logic and related technologies.
Mr. Pellerin earlier founded Accolade Design Automation™, where
he was the architect of the PeakVHDL™
and PeakFPGA™ advanced products for HDL-based FPGA design.
CEO Brian Durwood is former Vice President of Tektronix' Maxtek subsidiary,
where he developed
Marketing and Sales and managed the largest P&L line.
From ABEL to Impulse
Pellerin and Durwood first met as members of Data I/O's ABEL®
project in the 1980's, which become
the most widely used commercial tool for PLD design. Other successful
products included PLDtest®,
VHDL-Direct, FutureDesigner™ and Synario™. Pellerin went
on to found Accolade Design Automation
and was chief architect of the successful PeakFPGA and PeakVHDL design
products.
Impulse staff is comprised of other experienced FPGA and embedded
systems tools designers, and
works with technology affiliates who collectively represent dozens
of successful design, synthesis
and simulation products.
