Carbon's customers build the latest ICs and systems to serve consumer, communications,
networking, and storage markets. They require production validation tools to help them meet ever-shrinking project schedules and life cycles.
Mission
Carbon is delivering software to engineers that enable RTL to be used as an integral part of a system validation strategy.
RTL is the fundamental way integrated circuits (IC) are described for today's complex electronic systems. Carbon turns RTL
into a virtual system prototype that enables engineers to easily validate their design architecture, software, and hardware
months before their physical prototypes and ICs can be fabricated.
Carbon’s new software approach allows multiple levels of abstraction to be validated together including C, SystemC, RTL, IP cores,
transaction-level, and instruction-level models. The key to VSP is performance; the ability to execute billions of cycles and boot embedded
operating systems, all with desktop software.
Carbon’s new approach shortens schedules and accelerates time-to-profit by enabling validation to occur in parallel with hardware development.
Problems can be found and resolved early in the design cycle—rather than waiting for FPGA prototypes to be built or silicon to be delivered.
Carbon's VSP™ enables RTL to be used as an integral part of a system validation strategy. Design compilation takes minutes and software validation runs fast.
The results match real hardware with all its errata.
